Ahmed has over 5 years in auditing and accounting practice. He worked as a senior financial consultant and internal auditor for different companies including Dahabshiil; the largest Africa-based international money transfer. He also worked for over 2 years as an accountant at Hashi and Tosha Petroleum where he was responsible for posting and reviewing journal entries, maintaining of proper books of accounts and filing of other statutory requirements. Ahmed is a practicing Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) registered with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya. He holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from The University of Nairobi. Ahmed is also a Certified QuickBooks Adviser (CQA) for QuickBooks Desktop with Intuit.

He has gained exposure in the financial services, manufacturing and telecommunications sectors as well as non - governmental organisations having been engaged on many assignments related to the provision of audit and transaction advisory services to clients in Kenya and Somalia. He has been involved in the following audit assignments among others; Equity Bank Ltd, Cooperative Bank of Kenya, PTA Bank, Renaissance Capital (Kenya) Limited, Shelter Afrique, Alcatel Lucent East Africa and UNICEF Somalia.
